Current BPHA Members are eligible to register for all programs and lessons offered at the BPHA Recreation Centre. 

Non-member guests are able to register for various programs when invited by a BPHA Member.  (See program descriptions below.) 

Non-members may register for Bronze Level Lifeguarding courses only, space permitting.

PD Day Camps

Friday May 31 (PD Day for Public and Catholic Elementary students.)       

Friday June 28 (PD Day for Public Elementary students.)                         

     

Camp runs from 9 am - 1 pm at the BPHA Recreation Centre and is open to children 5 - 12 years old.

Participants will have the opportunity to play organized pool games, create crafts, play tennis, and enjoy some active games too! Lunch and snacks are included.

Program is limited to 30 participants. PD Day Camps fill up quickly. Register early to avoid disappointment.

 

Note: Open swim begins at 1pm on PD Days. Children 9+ are welcome to stay independently for the afternoon and play with neighbourhood friends.

*NEW* this year. Children 5+ can register for our "Poolside Play" program.  Participants will be supervised by BPHA staff from 1pm - 5pm. 

 

PD Day Camp: $25 (5 - 12 years)            Poolside Play: $15 (5+ years)

 

Note: Space permitting, members may invite a non-member guest to register for PD Day Camps/Poolside Play beginning one month before the camp date. (April 30/May 31).

School's Out Party!

Thursday June 27, 2019 4:30pm - 6pm

 
Come out and celebrate the end of another school year! All school-age children welcome.
 

Swimming, games and a fun craft!

 

$5 Dinner - includes 2 slices of pepperoni or cheese pizza, veggies and dip, juice, and a cupcake! Additional slices can be purchased for $1.

Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm. Bring the whole family!

 

 

Kid's Pajama Party! *NEW*

This is a drop-off program for kids 5-12 years old.  Kids will have the opportunity to swim, play active games, do a craft, and then watch a movie...with popcorn of course!. Pizza dinner with veggies and dip and juice is included.

Teen Program *NEW*    

Note: There are only 2 spaces remaining for the Escape Room on July 24.  You will be notified by email if we are not able to accommodate your registration.

 

Join us on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer for this exciting program open to individuals 13+.

During the first week of each session, teens will have the opportunity to connect with friends and neighbours by participating in a fun team building activity, run by BPHA staff at the Recreation Centre.

For the second week of each session, teens will travel offsite to participate in a variety of activities within the community.

Do you want to participate in the Teen Program for FREE?


All you need to do is:
            1. Participate in 2 or more fundraising activities (bottle drives, bake sales,

or car wash).

  2. Volunteer to help out at the events and/or programs that are happening at the Recreation Centre

this summer (e.g. PD Day Camp, Pajama Party, Fun+ Camp etc.).

Each time you volunteer, you can attend one of the offsite

activities for free. Volunteer 4 times and you can participate in the Teen

Program all summer long for FREE!


Registration

Registration is required for offsite activities and closes one week prior to the scheduled activity.


Teens are welcome to invite non-member guests to attend.

 

 

Fun Camp +

Monday August 26 - Friday August 30

Fun Camp runs from 9 am - 1 pm. Poolside Play runs from 1 pm - 5 pm. Register for one or both of these great programs.

 

FUN CAMP (children 5-12)

POOLSIDE PLAY (children 5+) 

Participants will be supervised by a BPHA staff member from 1 pm - 5 pm while playing with neighbourhood friends at the Recreation Centre.

SESSION DATES

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS

Red Cross Swim Lessons (maximum of 8 participants per class)
Lessons offered:  Parent & Tot, Preschool, Swim Kids 1- 10, Bronze Level Lifeguarding Courses (Star, Medallion, and Cross)

To register for Swim Kids 1, children must be able to touch the pool bottom in the shallow end with their chin out of the water. If they are not able to touch, they will be assigned to the Red Cross Swim Preschool program where they must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Progression to Swim Kids 1 is at the discretion of the instructor. 

All other levels can be determined using the Red Cross Registration Guide. If you are still unsure about what level to register your child in, please speak with one of the Facility Co-Managers to arrange a swim evaluation before the session begins.

 

*New* Junior Lesson Program

This is a drop-off program for children 5+. 

A BPHA staff member will supervise participants from 9 am - 1 pm Monday - Friday during each of the 4 sessions during the summer. The program includes a Red Cross swim lesson, tennis class, and a variety of active games and crafts. Participants bring their own lunch each day, with the exception of Mondays and Fridays, when a hot lunch will be available for purchase. 

Introductory rate: $125/child per 2 week session.

Note: A minimum of 4 participants is required for the program to run.

 

*New* Poolside Play

Children 5+ will be supervised by a BPHA staff member while playing with neighbourhood friends at the Recreation Centre. This program runs Monday - Friday from 1 pm - 5 pm and is available for all 4 sessions in the summer. 

Introductory rate: $75/child per 2 week session.

 

Bronze Courses (maximum of 8 participants)

BRONZE COURSES

There will be no refund or reduction in lesson fees due to missed lessons or inclement weather. During inclement weather, staff will provide water safety lessons.

Private Swim Lessons

Private swim lessons are offered to help swimmers achieve their goals in a one to one format.  To schedule lessons, please complete a private lesson registration form and arrange lesson times with a Facility Co-Manager.  Cost is $15.00 per half hour lesson.
